Rendr + Magento Integration Guide

1. Overview

The Rendr + Magento integration allows you to display Rendr delivery options directly in your Magento checkout and return live delivery pricing based on parcel dimensions.

Once installed, customers can select Rendr delivery services during checkout, and delivery requests are created in Rendr after the order is placed.

This integration helps merchants:

  • Display live Rendr delivery rates at cart and checkout

  • Offer Fast, Same Day, and Standard delivery options

  • Calculate pricing using parcel dimensions

  • Sync delivery status updates back into Magento

After the integration is connected:

  • Magento requests delivery rates from Rendr

  • Rendr returns available services and pricing

  • Orders placed with Rendr create delivery requests in Rendr

  • Tracking updates sync back into the Magento admin

Prerequisites

Before installing the extension, confirm the following.

What you’ll need

  • A Magento 2 store 

  • Admin access to Magento

  • Rendr credentials from your Implementation Partner:

    • Client ID / API Key

    • Tenant ID

    • Store Handle / Store ID

  • Parcel dimension defaults (if not set at product level)

2. How It Works (High-Level)

The Magento extension connects Magento’s shipping system to Rendr’s Delivery API.

  • Magento sends parcel and address details to Rendr

  • Rendr returns live delivery rates at cart and checkout

  • Customers select a Rendr delivery option

  • After checkout, a delivery request is created in Rendr

  • Staff manage the delivery booking

  • Tracking events update back into Magento automatically

Rendr delivery services available:

  • Rendr Fast – 30 minutes to 3 hours

  • Rendr Flexible – Same Day delivery

  • Rendr Standard – Overnight / Interstate

3. Installation Steps

  • Unpack the supporting Rendr Magento Extension ZIP
  • Install the entire files and folder app to be copied as per: app/code/Rendr/Shipping
  • Enable maintenance mode by executing the command: bin/magentomaintenance:enable
  • Execute upgrade command: php bin/magento setup:upgrade
  • Execute compile command: php bin/magento setup:di:compile
  • Execute static deploy command: php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy -f
  • Call of maintenance mode: php bin/magento maintenance:disable

4. Features

Frontend

  • Customers can get current rates of goods based on Height, Width and Length shipped within Australia.
  • Rates can be returned at cart and checkout level
  • Rates responses will be returned based on Rendr’s account configuration and include services of Rendr Fast (30 minutes - 3 hours), Rendr Flexible (Same Day) and Rendr Standard (Overnight / Interstate)
  • The extension works with the rest of all default Magento 2 shipping methods.

Backend

  • This extension gives an option to enable / disable this extension easily by one Yes/No dropdown.
  • You can define your custom shipping title.
  • This extension gives option to define Auth URL, API Key, Tenant Id, Store Handle, Height(in CM), Length(in CM), Width(in CM).
  • Sandbox / production mode to have smooth connection to get rates displaying on the frontend.
  • This extension gives the option to define Days to sync the status from Rendr to M2.
  • Option is allowed to not to offer render to specific product(s).
  • Option is allowed to disable specific shipping method options

5. Technical Specifications

  • The delivery request will be created on Rendr after an order is placed using required data through Rendr’s Delivery API.
  • Staff members will then need to manage the booking of the delivery.
  • The extension will then store the shipping details in a separate table to display in the
  • Magento admin panel.
  • The extension only works for online payment, not with offline methods including Bank
  • Transfer or COD.
  • Tracking events will update the Magento backend as statuses update on Rendr’s API.

6. Troubleshooting

Common Issues

Issue: Rendr rates do not appear at checkout

Cause: Extension disabled or credentials incorrect

Resolution:

  • Confirm Enabled = Yes

  • Re-check API Key, Tenant ID, and Store Handle

  • Confirm environment mode

Issue: No rates returned for some products

Cause: Product dimensions missing

Resolution:

  • Set height, length, width, and weight at product level

  • Or configure default parcel dimensions

Issue: Incorrect delivery options shown

Cause: Delivery methods disabled incorrectly

Resolution:

  • Review enabled/disabled Rendr services

  • Save configuration and flush cache
