Firstly, the Rendr + Shippit integration uses Shippit as the fulfilment and label-generation layer, with Rendr handling carrier allocation and delivery execution after fulfilment.
This setup is commonly paired with Shopify Flow and works seamlessly alongside other Rendr checkout integrations such as the Rendr Shopify plugin, Shopify Local Delivery, or Bespoke Shipping.
1. Overview
The Rendr + Shippit integration allows merchants to process same-day or priority deliveries through Shippit, while using Rendr to allocate the most suitable last-mile carrier and manage delivery notifications.
In this setup:
Shippit is used for fulfilment and label printing
Shopify Flow is used to trigger Rendr delivery creation
Rendr manages carrier selection and delivery execution
This integration helps merchants:
Use Shippit’s fulfilment workflow and label printing
Prioritise Same Day deliveries for warehouse staff
Automatically send fulfilled orders to Rendr
Avoid manual delivery booking steps
After the integration is connected:
Orders are fulfilled in Shippit
Shopify is updated to Fulfilled
Shopify Flow sends the order to Rendr
Rendr allocates a carrier and notifies the customer
2. How It Works (High-Level)
This integration relies on fulfilment status changes rather than checkout logic.
Fulfilment Flow
Customer places an order in Shopify
Delivery method (e.g. Same Day) is selected via checkout logic
Order appears in Shippit
Staff process the order and print a label
Shopify order status updates to Fulfilled
Shopify Flow sends the order details to Rendr
Rendr creates a delivery and allocates the best carrier
Shippit handles labels and fulfilment.
Rendr handles delivery execution and tracking.
3. Prerequisites
Before setting up this integration, ensure the following.
What you’ll need
A Shopify store with Admin access
An active Shippit account
Shopify Flow App installed
A Rendr merchant account
A delivery method in Shopify that represents Same Day or priority delivery
4. Shippit Configuration
Mapping Same Day Orders in Shippit
In Shippit, the delivery method Same Day should be mapped to:
Click & Collect, or
Plain Label
This ensures Same Day orders appear as high priority for fulfilment staff.
Plain Label is commonly used because:
It allows fast label printing
It avoids carrier-specific labels
It supports external carriers (via Rendr)
Shippit’s Plain Label setup is documented here:
https://support.shippit.com/en-US/shippit/article/UJGI8kem-using-a-plain-label
Fulfilment Behaviour
When staff:
Open the order in Shippit
Print the Plain Label
Result:
The order is marked as Fulfilled in Shopify automatically
This fulfilment status change is critical for the Rendr flow.
5. Shopify Flow Configuration
Shopify Flow is used to trigger Rendr delivery creation.
Flow Trigger
Trigger: Order fulfilled
Flow Action
Send order details to Rendr
-
Include:
Order reference
Customer address
Delivery method
Store or location data
Once triggered:
Rendr receives the order
Rendr allocates the most suitable carrier
Customer notifications are sent
⚠️ Shopify Flow configuration is typically handled by Rendr or your implementation partner.
6. Checkout Compatibility
This fulfilment-based approach works seamlessly with multiple checkout configurations, including:
Rendr Shopify Plugin (carrier rates)
Shopify Local Delivery
Bespoke Shipping
In all cases:
Checkout controls when Same Day is offered
Shippit controls how the order is fulfilled
Rendr controls delivery execution
7. Testing the Integration
Step 1 – Place a Test Order
Place an order in Shopify using a Same Day delivery option
Confirm the order appears in Shippit
Step 2 – Fulfil the Order in Shippit
Open the order in Shippit
Print the Label and order will be assigned to a 'Plain Label'
Expected result:
Shopify order status changes to Fulfilled
Step 3 – Confirm Delivery in Rendr
Log into the Rendr portal
Locate the delivery using the order reference
Success looks like:
Delivery is created in Rendr
Carrier is allocated
Customer notification is sent
